Our Meeniyan Tournament commences this Friday with a ladies day sponsored by Nutrimetics and featuring the charity Beyond Blue.  We have approximately 60 – 70 players booked in to play due to all the ladies getting one or two players from other clubs to play with them in a Bensomes competition.  A guest speaker from Beyond Blue will address the players after play.  Players have been encouraged to get with the theme and dress in blue.  Congratulations Veronica for this innovative idea to boost numbers for the tournament.

Saturday is the Col Stewart plate, a teams event 4 players with best three scores to count.  I am not sure how many numbers are booked in as yet.  There were no names on the board last Wednesday evening.  Hopefully there will be a good field to honour the sponsorship of Jeff Wilson and Rod Matthews.

Sunday is a mixed event with hopefully as many ladies as can getting a male partner from another club as 10 of our male players will be involved with pennant.  Bill Pratt will sponsor this event.

The Farm Traders day is to be held on Thursday 30th April (Rescheduled – check EVENTS Page).  This is an ambrose event with sponsors Rabo Bank and Murray Goulburn.

This event is an excellent opportunity to seek out new players, especially farmers to play with us.  I am sure we all know farmers who would like to have a day off playing golf or new players who would like to have a hit.  There are no handicaps necessary and the prizes should be good.  We will play 12 holes and the cost will be $20 per player.  Gather at 9.00 – 9.30 for rolling start.

The club had a visit from Darren Cole the field officer for Golf Victoria in our region.  Darren helped the club to complete a Club Health Check document.  Copies of this document are with the secretary.  Contact me if you wish to have a look at it.

Trevor Hollingsworth had a very busy day yesterday 11th April with lessons.  Four were new players which is great.  They all want to come back next time and he has agreed to return.

With the completion of Twilight we will be beginning our Sunday lunches on Sunday 4th May.  Golfers may play 12 holes beginning at 10.00 am.  Lunch will be available from 12 pm.  Denise will cater for the lunches.  Cost will be $15 for 2 course meal.

Our final night of twilight was held on Friday 10th April with Glow Golf balls and glow sticks illuminating the flags and holes.  A great time was had by all who attended.  They also enjoyed a delicious light meal for the bargain price of $25 per person.

We have plans to hold another Night Golf event at the start of twilight and players have requested that we play nine holes.  Keep an eye out for notice of this coming up and get yourself organised.  Other clubs never have events like this and if you ask players from other clubs to come I am sure they would love to be invited.

Would all those who have a RSA certificate please let Denise know and she will help you to update it if necessary.  A viable bar committee can be made from these members.  Denise would welcome more help in the bar.
